Folks–I’ve been getting questions. Lots and lots of questions from lots and lots of engaged voters. And the number one question to me as a candidate is: “What are you going to do about my taxes?!” This is a great question.

Short answer: I am going to be careful with taxes and protect against government over-spending so West Jordan residents don’t pay for fluff.
Medium answer: I’ll bring the same goals to the city council as I have when sitting at the kitchen table with my husband making our family budget. Don’t overspend. Invest where it counts. Save for a rainy day.
Long answer: I am the only candidate with professional experience in government budget policy. I have a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Utah where my academic focus was on analyzing government budgets to identify overspend, fluff, and inefficiencies, while also identifying excellent policies with high return on investment for the taxpayer and sustainable maturation. I compared national, state, and local budgets. I know my way around a municipal budget sheet, and I’ll come with a very specific experience to manage things well. This is more than good intentions–this is my expertise. I am looking forward to putting that expertise to work for all the residents of West Jordan.
